A few of months ago, I conducted an SEO experiment to prove or disprove the notion, that exact-match domains offered an SEO benefit over other domain name selections; in Google’s search results. At it’s conclusion, I was satisfied that the notion was in fact true, and that exact match domains do offer an SEO benefit; for search engine marketers.
More recently I have seen this demonstrated in an SEO competition. It appears that nearly every one of the approximately 20 participants, chose at least one of the prescribed keywords; for their domain name selection. This demonstrates an obvious bias, in the opinion of search engine marketing professionals, when choosing a domain name. Although most of them selected ramadama dingdong, the less offensive of the two keyword phrases- swamp ass and ramadama dingdong, one SEO entry bravely chose swamp ass; and linked Ramadama Dingdong to his own page.
Early in the competition, I performed a search for the query “ramadama dingdong“. Not at all surprised by the results, I believed that we might be seeing another example, of how Google favors the exact match (primary) ramadama dingdong domain names; over a swamp ass domain or ramadama dingdong page.
