It is Christmas time again and every Holiday Season has a gift-giver, who is notorious for giving the kind of gifts, you didn’t know that you needed or even wanted. Slightly-less wonderful gifts like a turtle-neck sweater or pair of wool socks. For me, Microsoft-MSN is that gift-giver. First it was Windows 8 and most recently it has been the introduction of Socl.
Microsoft is describing Socl as a research project, that began as an experiment in social search, which was originally intended to target students; ideally for the purpose of learning. Following the lead of the Socl community, Socl has since evolved into a service whereby people can connect to discuss shared interests, and express their thoughts through beautiful posts; that take only moments to create. Sounds great? How do you join? After a long period of closed beta testing, Socl was introduced earlier this week to everyone, provided you have a Facebook or MSN account; to join in.
Logically your next question would be: How do I get started? Socl makes it very easy to create beautiful posts, that you will be proud to share with the community and are much more likely to inspire your audience to want to learn more, and re-share your content. Here are 3 easy to follow steps, to create beautiful image, link and video posts, with MSN Socl:
1. Select the post creator at the top of the page, to include your images, links and videos, from the web.
2. Once you have arrived at the post creator, add your contribution to the green bar at the top, right-hand corner of the Socl create a post box. Note that it turns from green to white when selected.
3. Assemble a compelling collage of images and text in just seconds, by clicking your selections, from the boxes that appear.
Aside from selecting the most descriptive content, make certain that you include a gripping title and small collection of descriptive tags (interests), for each of your post.
Now, it is time to get Socl with me. 🙂
